Hello and Welcome to ThinkWell.

ThinkWell is an international organisation and may be accessed and used by everyone, anywhere in the world.

To join ThinkWell you must agree to the following terms and conditions.

If we change these terms and conditions, we will post the revisions on this page. If you use our website, you are agreeing to accept these changes. Changes will become effective as soon as they are posted.

What we do

This site is all about helping people find health information and know whether it is trustworthy, and, where information is not available, help people design and participate in research studies that will answer their questions.

The information provided may not address your individual requirements. Given that the impact of any information expressed on our site can vary widely based on your particular circumstances, you should always carry out your own research into the area of health and wellbeing that is of interest to you. We hope to be able to give you the information you need to do this in an effective manner.

ThinkWell is providing this website on an “as is” basis and makes no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to this website or its contents and disclaims all such representations and warranties.

To the extent that we are practically able to do so, we may terminate your access to any part of ThinkWell at any time without notice if you breach any of the terms. 

What we don’t do

The use of this website is not intended to be a replacement or substitute for professional or medical advice.

We provide our site in good faith. We endeavour to ensure the complete and accuracy of all information however much of the content is user generated (e.g. discussion forums). Therefore we make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose of the information. ThinkWell does not pre-screen user generated content.

You acknowledge and agree that you bear full responsibility for your own research and decisions and that ThinkWell shall not be liable for any action that you or others take or don't take based on your use of or reliance on information provided by us or other users of ThinkWell.

Access to our site, or its content may not always be delivered uninterrupted, timely or error-free, and we cannot guarantee that the site will be free from viruses or other harmful items. It is the responsibility of the user to implement safeguards and procedures to make sure any files you obtain through our site are free from such harmful items.

Links Policy

We provide certain links to other related websites which we find to be useful and relevant but we do not monitor the content of third party websites. These links take you outside our website and we cannot be held responsible for the content of external websites.

You are encouraged to link to our site. Any site or service that links to our site:

  •  can display a ThinkWell logo linking to our home page and use ThinkWell content with the appropriate acknowledgements;
  •  may not in any way imply that we are endorsing your site unless you have our permission to do so;
  • may not misrepresent its relationship with us or present false information about us;  
  • may not be a site or service that contains content that could be considered distasteful or offensive.

If you breach these terms, then we have the right to require that your link is removed and to take whatever other action we think appropriate.

However, use of the material is free if accompanied by the appropriate acknowledgements. You agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any of the material contained in the website unless you have gained our permission to do so.

User Content/Discussion Forums

We actively encourage debate and the sharing of information between our users. However, your use of our chat forums must be lawful.

Please follow these rules

  • Flaming and insults are prohibited. Do not post content that is offensive, libellous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context. 
  • Do not post personal information, including your email address, IM address, or phone number.
  • The Forums are not to be used for any commercial purpose. Do not post any content that involves the transmission of "junk mail," "chain letters," or unsolicited mass mailing or "spamming."
  • Do not impersonate anyone else.
  • Do not post any content that includes information that is false, misleading, inaccurate, fraudulent, or deceptive, or that promotes illegal activities;
  • Do not post any content that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law. Do not post any content, or take any action, that is designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment or to interfere with or disrupt the Website or services connected to the Website.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to join ThinkWell. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have your guardian's permission to use or post on this website.

When you post text, you expressly grant us a perpetual, unlimited free license to republish that text on our site and to redistribute/make available and/or use that text in print or electronic form anywhere in the world as part of an edited compilation or otherwise.

We endeavour to monitor the use of the chat forums but we also rely on you to inform us if you spot any abuse or inappropriate behaviour, in which case we will review specific postings. If you feel you have been threatened, damaged or abused in our chat forums please email Amanda@thinkwell.eu

We reserve the right (but we are not obliged) to do any or all of the following:

  • remove without notice communications which are abusive, illegal, or disruptive, or that otherwise fail to conform with these Terms.
  • terminate a user's access to post messages to any or all of these areas  
  • edit or remove any communication(s) posted on our website, regardless of whether such communication breaches these Terms.

These Terms have been published on 6th August 2008 and replace with immediate effect the Terms previously published.
