Privacy policy
ThinkWell respects the privacy of people who use our web sites, and when personal information is used we do so in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. In order to administer our website, provide email alert services and consult on our work, ThinkWell occasionally captures personal data. This is done in two ways:
- The ThinkWell web site has an optional electronic newsletter service which keeps people informed about a range of developments relating to ThinkWell. If you register for the newsletter service your email address and other information given when registering will be held on the system for the purpose of providing this service. It will not be passed on to third parties. If you wish to discontinue with the email notification service please contact ThinkWell by email.
- Site access. The web site monitors access to the site for the purpose of system administration of the web server and statistical monitoring of web site usage. This may include 'cookies'. A cookie is a message given to a web browser by a web server. The message is then stored by the browser in a text file called cookie.txt. Every time the browser obtains a page from the server this cookie message is sent back. A cookie can be used to identify users and personalise their visit by customising web pages for them.
Information Collection and Use ThinkWell is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will never sell or rent this information to others. Information may be shared with accredited researchers with the individual consent of each participant. ThinkWell™ collects information from users at several different points on our website.
Log Files We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses may be linked to personally identifiable information for research purposes but only if we have received your formal prior informed consent for this.
Links This web site has links to other sites. ThinkWell is not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the ThinkWell web site.
Surveys From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include, but is not limited to, contact information (such as name), and demographic information (such as sex or age). Survey information will be used for purposes of ThinkWell research and monitoring and improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
Security This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line. When any research participant form asks users to enter sensitive information that information is encrypted and is protected. While on a secure page the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, inside a locked server room.
Notification of Changes If we change our privacy policy, we will post these changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect and how we use it.
This privacy policy covers the ThinkWell web site at www.ThinkWell.eu. Any links from these sites to other web sites are not covered by this policy.
